Greetings Sweetheart

Dear Daughter,

As of right now, you’re turning 2 in three days. The time has gone by so fast, it’s insane, but I hope that by the the time you get this, things will be more calm. I haven’t decided yet when to give this email to you, obviously not now though. I saw a suggestion online of ways to connect with your kids, and the thing that caught my eye was this. Creating an email for a child and then sending them emails throughout the years is almost as personal as a diary, and I thought that would be a neat thing to do for you.

I don’t know where our relationship will end up, but I hope it will go well. Lord knows, I’ve had a strained relationship with my mom, and that’s the last thing I want with you. But one day, you will become a teenager. And when that happens, I will be scared. I’ll go into more details later, but for now, please know that no matter what happens or has happened, I love you with all my heart. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I know that for a fact. You brighten my life and gave me a reason to be responsible, and I was more than happy to oblige.

Anyway, I don’t want to ramble, especially for the first letter, but for now, I needed to tell you how much I love you and look forward to sending more emails. I’ll send another one tonight, as this one is more of an introduction.

Love,

Mom
